Movavi Video Converter is mainly intended to transcode video but it also supports other media types, specifically audio and images. The program’s interface is very modern and straightforward. Although it resembles other similar tools, this one has some differences in its layout that, in my opinion, help to optimize screen space.
The converter supports a wide array of formats. Moreover, it allows importing video from DVD discs and folders. Like most other similar programs, it conveniently allows converting batches of files. In this respect, it is good that it lets you add entire folders. In the case of videos, it is possible to select one of the audio tracks if there are various. Likewise, it lets you pick one of the subtitle versions available, keep all of them and even add more from external files.
One of the hardest parts of converting is to avoid compatibility issues. So, it is good news, that, besides selecting a specific format, it is possible to select the intended playback device. What is more, if you connect a device, the program can identify it and set a target profile accordingly. Luckily, it is possible to convert across media types, for instance, extract audio from video or convert video to pictures. Regrettably, however, the program allows you to set illogical combinations, like extracting audio from an image, which naturally leads to errors.
All in all, Movavi Video Converter has the main advantage of supporting multiple file extensions, as both input and output. Likewise, it can convert very fast thanks to its support of modern GPUs. The product is available in standard and pro editions. The latter includes some editing features, like trimming, merging, rotating and stabilizing the image. Fortunately, they can be tried at no cost.
Allows you to convert any popular video formats into MPEG, VCD, DVD format.
